In Step 3 of the D3 process, you take the information gained in Step 1 by identifying story elements and narrative components and Step 2 by interpreting their symbolism and analyzing their use in the story.

Step 3 is when the interpretation comes together by connecting the dots in context and reflecting on your life. In this step you will learn how everything in a dream interconnects symbolically and as part of the story and how it connects with you, the dreamer.

Step 3 offers three primary tools:

  1. Context
  2. Connect the dots
  3. Reflect on your life

Each tool is detailed at this website and the links are below.

An ongoing process

Dream interpretation is an ongoing process as you find resolution and apply what you learn from your dreams. The meaning of your dreams unfolds over time as events play out and you gain the perspective to fully understand them. The end of the D3 interpretation process is NOT the end.

Step 3 is where you live your dreams by making them part of your daily life. The time and attention you give builds a relationship of trust and mutual understanding with your dreaming mind, and it will reward you with richer dreams and more insights into that part of your life.

Dreaming truly is an experience unto itself. It’s like living another life or many lives simultaneously.

Part of the ongoing process is to work with your dreams in creative ways. Below is an excerpt from my first book on dream work:

Using Dreams and Active Imagination for Personal Growth

If you are here without learning Steps 1 and 2, you need the information below.

Step 3: Connect the dream’s details in context and reflect on your life

Below are links to how to connect dots of a dream, do it in context, then reflect on your life to find the source, meaning, and message.
